Micro Hydro Generation

Flood Risk Assessment

August 2012

Civil Engineering Solutions have been commissioned to prepare a Level 2 FRA Report for a proposed residential development in Wigan. Originally commissioned in August, the final report was presented in April following extensive consultation with the Client, Planning Authority and Environment Agency.

The final report was accepted by the Environment Agency and Planning Authority. The client was finally awarded planning consent on a difficult site.

London Colney, Flood Risk Assessment

Civil Engineering Solutions have been commissioned to prepare a level two flood risk assessment for a proposed residential development of nine houses in London Colney.

The FRA report will build upon work undertaken previously for the site as the client has extended his development proposals.

Allt Coch, Beaumaris Project Appraisal Report

Civil Engineering Solutions have been commissioned to assist Coastal Engineering UK to consider fluvial flood risk for the town of Beaumaris on Anglesey.

CES's involvement is to work alongside Coastal Engineering UK Ltd and prepare flood and direct rainfall/Pluvial modelling to determine potential overland flood routes and extents for a range of storm events. This data is considered central to the development of understanding flood risk and assessing what can be done to provide future protection for the urban areas of this historic town.

Canvey Island, Hydraulic Flood Modelling

June 2012
Civil Engineering Solutions have been commissioned to prepare a detailed flood model for a proposed residential development on Canvey Island. The client is proposing to develop up to 300 houses and the Environment Agency and Planning Authority require detailed assessment of fluvial flood risk for the site to support the planning application process.

The flood modelling will be undertaken by our experienced and qualified flood risk engineers using industry standard hydraulic modelling software ISIS/TuFLOW. For this commission, we are pleased to be extending our working relationship with gta Civils ltd, who will be preparing the Flood Risk Assessment reporting for the development.
